The Quilt Coop is a full service quilt shop in the country.  We are located 2 miles north of College Springs, Iowa on the Century Farm of Gene and Robin Ripley.  We offer quilting classes and custom machine quilting.  For a class schedule you can contact us or check the latest newsletter

 

 

The Quilting Shop used to be a chicken house.  The structure was originally built in 1939 by Charles Little, Gene’s Grandfather.  Robin, with the help of her family, converted the chicken house into a quilting shop, and the response of local quilters was overwhelming.   “Where am I going to put all of my fabric?”

 

“How about the old milking parlor?”  Back to work!  First, Gene had to find another place to put his “treasures” picked up at auctions……. hammers…… wrenches…… tractor parts, etc.  The concrete walls are covered with wood from the barn that Gene built when he was 18. 

We stock more than over 2000 bolts of fabric, plus all colors of DMC Floss and all colors of Pearl Cotton, size 8 as well as the largest selection of hand dyed wool and wool felt in the area - over 68 bolts of wool felt! You can also find over 300  of the most current book titles in stock  as well as an array of patterns and also your favorite quilting magazines.  If we do not have what you are looking for, please ask and we will do our best to get it for you
